Tango Show with Anestos Manos and Anna Koliofoti
Anna and Tasos met through their first dance steps in tango. They discovered early on that they enjoyed dancing together and evolving their dance. Later on, they started voluntarily teaching classes together at the Dance Group of the University of Crete and at “Tangoneon,” which they continue to do until today.
Tasos took his first tango steps at Tangoneón. His immediate involvement with the Heraklion community and his enthusiasm for the dance motivated him to contribute by participating in most of the club’s activities, including administrative tasks. He has been involved with Argentine tango for 8 years and has been teaching voluntarily at the club and the tango dance group of the university for the past 5 years. He has attended several seminars by globally recognized instructors such as Sebastian Arce, Chicho Frumboli, Carlos Espinoza, Sebastian Achaval, among others.
Anna began her studies in 2013 at the University of Crete in Heraklion. Through the university’s tango student group, she discovered tango and was captivated by the communication between the couple that emerges through this particular dance. She has traveled to Istanbul, Thessaloniki, Athens, and Rethymno for major tango festivals and marathons such as TanGO To Istanbul, A Los Amigos, and North Greece Tango Marathon. Some of the maestros she has learned from include Chicho Frúmboli/Juana Sepulveda, Carlitos Espinoza/Noelia Hurtado, Sercan Yigit/Zeynep Aktar, Lukas Balokas/Georgia Proiskou. Anna started teaching tango voluntarily in 2017 in the university’s group and later in the Cultural Association Tangoneón.
